Crumbly Beef

Cook at 325º for about 2.5 hours:

2          -           -                       rump roasts (3-4 lb. each)

1          -           cup                  water

Remove from oven and slice. At this point, meet may be cooled and fat removed.

Add:

1          -           can                   beef broth

-           -           -                       salt to taste

-           -           -                       pepper to taste

A) Cut the roast into slices across the grain and return to pan or crock pot.
B) Cover and continue cooking, for two more hours at 300º until meat falls apart.
C) Shred with fork.
D) Serve on buns.
E) May be made ahead of time and reheated.
F) Fat may be removed when cooled.

Background
Beef prepared in this way will remind one of the very well-done beef served at church dinners. It has become a Christmas Eve tradition at the Black/Ackland household. It is also a good one for parties, since it can be prepared ahead of time, and is easy to serve.
